We’re all living in a new normal, how we deal with it is so important.

My beautiful wife, Sandy and I sit down at the kitchen table prior to a game of 500 Rummy to talk about how we’re dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.  We’ve been quarantined in our house for going on three weeks now and just found out that it will be at least another 30 days yet until it’s lifted.

We just purchased an RV and were ready to get started on our new journey in life that God has called us to take and then all of sudden the world as we know it came to a screeching halt.  Our house was up for sale, but the real estate market halted along with everything else.  Our big plans, as well as the rest of the world’s were put on hold.

We’ve held on to faith over fear and continue to trust His timing.  Before we know it, this pandemic will pass, the economy will rebound, the house will sell and we will be off on our new journey.

Hopefully people are more grateful and not do feel so entitled to the blessings that we so often take for granted.  God is allowing the earth to reset and clean itself up while giving us all a second chance to seek Him out and come out of this with a new, more appreciative perspective on the things that we cherish most.

We’ve found that balance, fresh air, sunshine, walking and most of all scripture and prayer have helped us find that “peace that passes all understanding” during these uncertain times.

As a side note, I mentioned in the podcast that I was getting ready to “whoop her” in a game of 500 Rummy, however, it was quite the opposite outcome as she took me to school by almost doubling my score in less than ten hands.  A nice lesson in humility while in COVID-19 quarantine.
