In this episode of “The Journey of My Mother’s Son” podcast, I sit down to talk with Tony Gentile, Jr.

Tony, along with my nephew Donnie wrote and performed the theme song to my podcast many years ago.  He is also a former employee of mine and a longtime friend.  He comes from an amazing family who instilled an ethic of hard work and dedication in him at a very young age.

Tony is an incredibly talented guitarist who has decided that the time is right to leave his comfort zone, move to Nashville, and pursue a career in country music.  He and a group of other musicians are betting on themselves and going “all in” on their musical talents.

We talk about how his love and passion for music has helped to shape who he is as a person today.  What artists influenced him as a young player and the role that music has played on his entire life.  Tony has played in multiple bands and multiple genres.  He feels that all of those threads wound together are what has contributed to his playing style today.  The connection that he feels to the audience during a live performance is one of the things that he loves most about music.

Most importantly, we talk about how he decided that now was the time to take the leap and chase his dream.  He’s at a point in his life now where he needed to have the question of whether he’d be able to make it or not, answered.  Regardless of if he makes it or not, he’ll find that answer and be able to move on with no regrets.
