My Kind of Weird
About a week ago, Sandy and I were able to connect and spend time with April and her husband Justin in Idaho. It was the first time that we had actually met in person. To some, I’m sure that seems a little bit strange, but to those of us who are the same kind of weird, it’s perfectly normal. We already knew that we had a connection long before we ever met face to face. We knew that God had us cross paths for a reason.
My favorite Steve Jobs quote goes like this…
“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
The best part of our journey has been connecting with like-minded people. That was April and Justin. Very like-minded people.

Rick Stratton – Talking Vintage Base Ball
The modern-day Brandywine Base Ball Club was established in 2013 and modeled after its 19th century namesake, which formed in 1865 in West Chester, PA and is now 501(c)3 non-profit organization. In keeping with the spirit of the original ball club and its rival contemporaries, it strives to field the most competitive team possible. However, within the competitive context, it also aims to:
Provide our members with an outlet for physical fitness through the sport of vintage base ball
Educate the public about baseball history, particularly within the context of Pennsylvania state history
Serve as a point of community pride and entertainment
Jenna Nimtz – Witnessing Dreams
Jenna is the manager of the Baseballism store at the Field of Dreams Movie Site in Dyersville, Iowa. She is better known as Jenna from Baseballism for her Instagram posts about the events and activities that take place at the site on a daily basis.
Her love of the game of baseball is in her blood as she grew up in a baseball family.

Dr. Toni Palermo – Finding Her Calling After the Game
After Toni became a Nun, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in English, History and Math from Alverno College. She then earned three Master Degrees and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She taught in the Physical Education Department and the School of Social Work at the University.
