We were scheduled to leave the Dream Center on New Year’s Day.
I had one last week to really make all of the guys there happy and smile. Mommy and daddy wanted to do some special things for the guys during that last week too.
On Monday, mommy and daddy bought a whole bunch of pizzas for the guys. They really liked that. When mommy and daddy were getting back to the house on wheels after the pizza party, which I only got one piece of by the way, they got a phone call from Aunt Cheryl’s daughter, Rebecca. She told us that Aunt Cheryl had to go into the hospital. That made me sad because Aunt Cheryl had just gotten me some of the best treats ever for Christmas and I love Aunt Cheryl a lot. I made sure that every time that mommy called Aunt Cheryl, I was right there at the phone to let her know that I was praying for her to get better and be able to go back home really soon. I was usually eating one of the treats that she got me when I was praying, it just helps me think better that way.
Later in the week, mommy and daddy bought bacon, eggs, and milk for the guys too. Mommy and daddy really seemed to like getting good food for the guys. Mommy and daddy ate a lot of good food at the Dream Center, so they wanted to pay it forward a little. They said it’s easier for people to be happy when they have full bellies. I can relate to that, because I’m always happier when I have a full belly.
After daddy got back from Pennsylvania the guys invited him over to the dorm for Psalms and Proverbs. That’s a thing that the guys do each night together where they just take turns reading verses out of Psalms and Proverbs. Daddy really seemed to enjoy doing that with the guys. Mommy couldn’t go because they do it in the men’s dorm and she isn’t a man.
But you know what, I am a man, and you guessed it, later in the week, I was invited to go to the dorm for Psalms and Proverbs too. Man, was I ever on point on the nights that I went to the dorm with daddy. I didn’t help read, but I sure did dish out some smiles. At first, I had to inspect the entire dorm though. I went around and sniffed every nook and cranny of that dorm to make sure that everything was okay. It passed the sniff test, so then I would just walk around the room and go to each guy and let them pet me for a little while. You could just feel the stress leaving them as they would pet me and they’d always smile while they were petting me too.
As we were getting close to New Year’s Day, I was starting to get more and more sad because I was really going to miss all of the awesome humans that I had met at the Dream Center. Mommy and daddy were starting to get a little sad too. That’s the only thing that I don’t like about our journey in the house on wheels, having to say good-bye to all of the wonderful people that I get to meet.
One day during our last week, daddy was helping Caleb shovel up all of the horse and cow poop that was on the concrete. The cows and horses are supposed to poop in the big field that they walk around in all day, but apparently sometimes they miss, actually, from what I saw, they miss a lot of the time. When daddy got back to the house on wheels and started talking about his job that day, I was like, “Dude, you complain about picking up my poop most of the time and you just shoveled like 20 wheelbarrows of cow and horse poop???” Of course, he had no answer for that. I guess it was just his way of helping out that day.
On New Year’s Eve, mommy and daddy went to a party with all of the guys. Mommy and daddy usually don’t stay up that late, so I was really surprised when they walked down to the CR Building and didn’t come back until 2022. Mommy came back first; daddy didn’t come back until after all of the fireworks were finished. Me and mommy watched some of the fireworks, but not many. Me and mommy and daddy aren’t real big partiers, so just the fact that we were all still awake at midnight was pretty impressive.
New Year’s Day was moving day for us. I was sad. I did get see most of the guys during my walk, I could tell that they were sad too. Mommy and daddy had a nice brunch with the guys and then they came back and started breaking the house on wheels down and getting it ready to travel. In the middle of the day, we moved the house on wheels up near the gate so that we could leave right after dinner.
Daddy did some podcasts with some more of the guys after we repositioned the house on wheels and mommy cleaned up a lot of stuff in the house on wheels too.
When mommy and daddy got back from dinner, I could tell that they were both really sad to leave the Dream Center. We met so many really neat people there, but it was time for us to move on to our next adventure.
When we left the Dream Center, we were heading to Sulphur, Louisiana. We were staying at the Cracker Barrel in Sulphur, of course. Then mommy and daddy were going to go to church and have breakfast with mommy and daddy’s friends Lori and TP on Sunday.
I couldn’t wait to see Lori and TP; we went to their house last September and I fell in love with both of them right away!
We got up pretty early on Sunday morning. It got really, really cold overnight. It went from 80 degrees on Saturday to like 42 degrees on Sunday! How crazy is that? Mommy and daddy got ready to go to church and it was so cold that daddy was wearing jeans and a flannel shirt. Daddy hardly ever wears jeans, so that’s when I know that it’s really cold outside.
I made sure that mommy and daddy didn’t forget to feed me before we left for church.
As we were driving toward the church, Lori was walking up the sidewalk to greet us. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot Lori was there to say hi. When we parked, she came into the house on wheels just to say hi to me. She did say hi to mommy and daddy too, but she really came into the house on wheels to see me, I just know that.
After church, Lori rode back to the Cracker Barrel with me and daddy in the house on wheels and mommy rode with TP. That was pretty neat, Lori took a picture of the three of us right away.
This is the first time that we ever slept at a Cracker Barrel, left and then came back to that same Cracker Barrel to eat breakfast. Mommy and daddy are always keeping me on my toes.

This is Lori, me, daddy, mommy, and TP in the house on wheels.
After breakfast, Lori and TP both came out to the house on wheels to see me. It was a great morning because I didn’t just get some bacon from the Cracker Barrel, I got a biscuit too! We all talked and then took some more pictures. I looked at the camera for some of the pictures, but not all of them, sometimes I get a little distracted when people try to take pictures of me.
We left Sulphur a little after noon and our goal was to drive to the Mississippi Welcome Center. We made it there just in time for mommy and daddy to feed me supper. They ate supper too and I begged for more food, successfully, I might add.
We’re heading back to Florida for a few months. We’re taking our time. We’ll get off Interstate 10 and drive up the coast of Mississippi on US 90.
Mommy and daddy were able to get one night in Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, Florida. I can’t go on the beach there, so that has me bummed out but I know that mommy really wanted to get back to Destin because she loves how white the sand is and how blue the water is there.
I’m hoping that we get to meet Alex and Pat from RV Party of 3 when we’re in Destin. They’re full-time RVers that daddy did a podcast with a few months ago and it just happened that they’re going to be in Destin the same time that we are. I hope that everything works out for us with our schedules so that we can see them and meet them in person!
After Destin, we’ll make our way down to Largo and I can’t wait to get there! I should see cousins Carole and Patty and our friends Tim and Ron. We stayed at Ron’s house in Washington and now we’ll get to see him again in Florida, how neat is that? We should also get to see mommy and daddy’s friend Billy Staples while we’re in Largo too!
After Largo, it’s back to Melbourne with Aunt Sally and Uncle Randy for a while. I can’t wait to see them again. I’m sure that I’ll get to see cousins Jenny, Bobby, and Andi as well as Uncle Tom in Melbourne too. It’s going to be a lot of fun. Me and mommy and daddy will get to walk at Wickham Park with Aunt Sally and her friends Alice and Pat. I’ll have to get right back to work making all of the Wickham Park people smile again.
Most of all, I hope that I get to clean up the crumbs that Uncle Randy leaves around his chair again, that’s always one of my favorite things to do!
