In this episode of “The Journey of My Mother’s Son” podcast, I sit down to talk with Wes Henderson.

A few weeks ago, Sandy and I had the pleasure of staying at the Talona Ridge RV Resort in East Ellijay, Georgia.

It’s a family-owned business and I was able to talk to third generation owner, Wes Henderson.

A development company that spent years in the apartment business, the opportunity arose to purchase a parcel of mountain top land in East Ellijay, Georgia to build an RV resort.

With no knowledge of the industry, they used humility to explore what the RV community would want to see in a new RV resort.  The resort is just the tip of the iceberg of the greater vision of what they want for the destination.

They’ll be constructing a retail shopping area along with cabins, hiking trails, and additional rustic RV spots across the street from the current location in order to create a one-stop destination that would be walkable for all.

The resort has beautiful mountain views 360 degrees at the top of the resort.  They feature live music and serve local wines every Friday and Saturday night in the event center.

The resort has a heated pool, hot tub, fitness center, dog park, dog wash, outdoor grills, gathering pavilions, clean bathhouses, showers, and laundry facilities to name a few of the amenities.
