Making connections is what life is all about.

God works in mysterious ways.  Following my podcast with Missy Coombes, who was an original Silver Bullet from 1994-1996, another door opened.  My friend and another former guest on the show, Tina Whitlock reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in meeting a fellow South Carolina alumni, Michelle Delloso, who was also a member of the Silver Bullets.  When Tina asked, I immediately recognized the name because Michelle garnered a lot of media attention during the game that I had coached against the Silver Bullets in Reading due to the fact that she grew up in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, which is less than an hour from Reading.  I immediately said, “Yes!”  Tina introduced us and we connected right away.

At a young age Michelle recognized that her athletic talent was a gift from God.  She understood that using the platform that she was given through sports was a higher calling to make a positive impact on the next generation, both male and female.

At the age of 25, she was quoted in the 1994 Silver Bullet Souvenir program, saying, “I feel that the Silver Bullets will give every girl in America a chance to have a female role model and a reason to ‘try’ anything she wants in life.”

Since her season with the Bullets, Michelle has spent her life giving back.  Again using her platform as a sports marketer for companies such as Nike, Louisville Slugger, and Adidias she has striven to make sports affordable and accessible for all.

Always pulling for the underdog, since leaving corporate America, she has created the Go Girl Futures program.  Its mission is, “To inspire, motivate, and build confidence in girls and women through encouraging and promoting participation in sports, athletics and outdoor activities; provide forums and venues to recognize Go Girls; offer necessary inspiration and empowerment through events; create and sell “Go Girl” merchandise to help support & promote our message & mission.

I am sure that you will enjoy her story as we take another stroll down memory lane to recognize another incredible Trailblazer from that Silver Bullet team.
