About 7 O’clock at night on Saturday, June 12, 2021, me and my mommy and daddy loaded up the house on wheels to start moving again.

We hadn’t been in Florida for too long this time, only about a month.  It was enough time for us to get all of our things fixed up on our house on wheels and mommy and daddy got to celebrate birthdays with four cousins.

For the first celebration, it was the biggest one that we went to.  We went down to West Palm Beach to celebrate with my daddy’s cousin, Jim and his daughter, Jen.  A whole bunch of my daddy’s other cousins and family members were there too.  It was Jim’s 60th birthday and his daughter’s 35th birthday.  There were so many people there.  There were even cousins there that my daddy never even met before.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get to meet too many of them because I had to stay in the RV Park, but that’s ok, my mommy and daddy had fun.

Later that week, we stayed one night in my daddy’s cousin Carole’s driveway in Largo, Florida and celebrated her birthday too.  Carole is Jim’s sister.  I really like when we go to Carole’s house because there are lots of neat places to walk and I get to go into Carole’s house and into her backyard too.  She has a nice fenced in back yard, so I get to go in there and run around and bark at the neighbor’s dogs to let them all know that I am the boss!  Carole also gives me treats when I’m there, so that always scores a lot of points with me too.  Treats are one of the fastest ways to get to my heart!

The last birthday that we celebrated was my favorite.  It was back at Aunt Sally and Uncle Randy’s house.  It was my daddy’s cousin Bobby’s 50th birthday.  I liked that celebration because I could be more of a part of it.  Bobby and his wife, Andi really like me.  They always pet me and talk to me when they come over to Aunt Sally’s house to visit.  Bobby’s birthday celebration was the same day that we were leaving to head back to Pennsylvania.  Before we loaded up and left, I got to go inside Aunt Sally’s house and say good-bye to everyone before we left.  Everyone who was there was so happy to see me and say bye.  They were all petting me and smiling and telling me to have a safe trip.  I was wagging my tail and I was just so happy to be able to say good-bye to everyone.  My friend Alice petted me really hard like she always does, which makes my tail wag so much that my butt wags too!  Then she introduced me to her son Gregory by telling him, “He’s just the coolest dog!”

I mean, I try not to let all of the compliments go to my head, but it’s tough sometimes when you know that everyone loves you so much.

I think that Uncle Randy was extra sad to see me go too because I wouldn’t be there to help him clean up his crumbs at his seat for a while.  I’m really going to miss our whole Florida family.  I love them all so much.

When we left that night, we were headed to Panama City, which was about six hours from Aunt Sally and Uncle Randy’s house.  Daddy didn’t want to drive the whole way in one day, so he drove a little over three hours and we slept in a rest area on I-10.

When we got up on Sunday morning, mommy and daddy ate breakfast quick and we started moving again.  We were going to Southern Grace Lavender Farm, which was a Harvest Host location.  I like when we stay at Harvest Host places, they are so neat.  We stopped at Panama City Beach to walk around before heading to the farm.  I really loved that walk because I got to walk around in the Gulf of Mexico a little bit with my daddy.  He was in the water up to his knees and I was all the way into the water up to my belly.  It was so fun!  I love going in the water.  It was kind of hot that day, so it was a nice way to cool off a little bit too!

After our walk, we drove up to the farm and that place was really neat!  They had a dog park that I could go into and there were two cool horses that came up and greeted me in the morning.  I really enjoyed myself at Southern Grace Lavender Farm, I hope that we go back there again sometime.  Mommy and daddy bought me some fresh homemade dog treats that were made with lavender.  They were delicious!  I wish that I could have walked through the lavender field, but some other dog peed in there once and ruined it for the rest of us!

On Monday morning, we left the farm and started to drive to Buccaneer State Park in Waveland, Mississippi.  We stopped in Destin, Florida first.

We were in Mississippi for two days.  It was a really neat state park too.  Mommy and daddy went to a water park that was right there in the state park for a little bit the one day.  I got to go on a couple of nice walks, but we had to go once the sun started to go down, because it was so hot in Mississippi.

Some people wondered why we went to Mississippi on our way to Pennsylvania, but one of the neat things about me and my mommy and daddy living in a house on wheels is that we can take the long way sometimes, which is exactly what we did this time.  We traveled through a total of nine states on our six day trip.  We went through Florida, Alabama (twice), Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

When we left Mississippi on Wednesday morning, we headed to Selma, Alabama to stay at Six Mile Creek State Park.  This was another really neat place.  We have always been so blessed with the places that we have gotten to stay since we’ve been living in our house on wheels.  Every place that we have been has been so neat, I can’t believe how cool each place that we have been to has been.

We got there around 7 PM, so it was cool enough for daddy and I to take a walk around the park.  It was so cool at night that we could sleep without the air conditioner on too.  We got up early the next day and me and daddy went for another walk before we started to pack up and get ready to move again.

Edmund Pettus Bridge, Selma, AL

On Thursday, we drove from Selma to Montgomery on Route 80, which was the same route that Dr. Martin Luther King, John Lewis, and thousands of other people marched for voting rights back in 1965.  We crossed over the Edmund Pettus Bridge where thousands of people were beaten just because they wanted voting rights on March 7, 1965, which was later coined, “Bloody Sunday.”  We stopped at the Civil Rights Memorial Park on the other side of the bridge.  I was able to get out and walk around there with mommy and daddy.  It was fun, but mommy and daddy seemed to get sad as they walked around and read the signs at the park.  Sometimes I just don’t understand why humans act the way that they do toward each other.  Don’t they know that we’re all God’s children?

We also stopped at the Lowndes Interpretive Center on our way to Montgomery.  Mommy and daddy ate lunch there and they had a nice walking trail that I could walk on with them too.  It was a nice stop for us and they had big RV parking spaces, which always seems to make my daddy happy.

From there we drove the rest of the march route into Montgomery.

After we spent some time in Montgomery, we started to head north again.

Daddy drove all the way through Alabama and a little bit of Georgia before we got into Tennessee.  We were on some really bumpy roads because the were doing construction on them.  Daddy sometimes says things that I can’t type here when we’re on bumpy roads.

We drove all the way to I-81 in Tennessee before we found a Cracker Barrel to sleep at for the night.  Mommy and daddy like staying at the Cracker Barrel because they can get up and eat a good breakfast in the morning.

That’s exactly what they did on Friday morning, Mommy and daddy got up and ate breakfast in the Cracker Barrel and then we started driving north on I-81 again.  We drove all the way to Winchester, Virginia.  Mommy and daddy ate dinner at Carrabba’s and then mommy ran into Aldi’s before we went to do laundry at a laundromat.  While we were waiting on the laundry to be finished, me and daddy took a nice walk around the town of Winchester.

After we finished the laundry, we drove our last leg of this trip into Pennsylvania.  We got to Cabela’s about 1 o’clock in the morning and stayed there for the night.

I was so excited when we got up on Saturday morning because I knew that we were going to Aunt Cheryl’s house.  I really love going to Aunt Cheryl’s house!  She is always so happy to see me.  I mean, let’s face it, just about everybody is always so happy to see me, but Aunt Cheryl really seems extra happy when I’m around her.

Later Saturday, mommy and daddy and Aunt Cheryl went to visit Kelly.  She made dinner for daddy for Father’s Day.

On Sunday morning, we hopped in the house on wheels and took it up to Uncle Donnie and Aunt Kathy’s house so that Uncle Donnie and my daddy could spend Father’s Day with their daddy.  They treated him to a big breakfast and a big dinner.  We spent the entire day at Uncle Donnie and Aunt Kathy’s house. When we first got there, I met Heidi, she’s Uncle Donnie and Aunt Kathy’s kitten.  We didn’t really hit it off, but then she went to the basement and I had the run of the upstairs.

That was a really fun day for me.  I got to spend time with Pop-Pop, that’s my daddy’s daddy, and Donnie and Erin, and Daniel, and Aunt Kathy and Uncle Donnie.  They all love me so much.  Daddy’s daddy really loves to be around me.  He always smiles and pets me a lot.

Even Uncle Donnie loves me although he tries not to let anyone know that he does.  He’s still a little salty because I heard that one time before I was born, my brother, Buddy ate a cheeseburger right off of his plate and uncle Donnie got a little bit mad at Buddy for that.  But deep down inside, I know that Uncle Donnie loves me a lot.  He proved it to me when he let me lick off his plate after breakfast on Father’s Day.  I know that he has a tough guy image to keep up, so his secret is safe with me.

We stayed at Aunt Cheryl’s house until Thursday and then we loaded up the house on wheels and went to Stephie and Eric’s house.  Eric and Garrett were at Scout Camp when we got there so me and daddy were outnumbered by the girls for the first few days.

Next week we go to Knoebel’s.  I’m really excited about that.  Honestly, I don’t know what a Knoebel’s is, but the way that everyone has been talking about it, it sounds like it’s going to be a really neat place for us to go.  Plus, Stephie, and Lillian, and Garrett, and Aunt Cheryl, and Rebecca and Julian, and Matthew are all going to be there with us!  Rebecca and Matthew are Aunt Cheryl’s kids and Julian is Rebecca’s son.  Aunt Cheryl and her family will be in a different camp site than us, but Stephie, and Lillian, and Garrett are all going to be sleeping with us in our house on wheels!  Wow, that’s going to be crazy!  I bet that daddy will be telling everyone to use their inside voice when we’re all in the house on wheels together.  It’s going to be so much fun for me!  So many people will be petting me.  Uncle Donnie, and Aunt Kathy, and Daniel are even going to come up with us one day.  They won’t be camping with us, but it will still be fun to see them again!

I’ll let you all know if this Knoebel’s thing is as good as all of the hype from everyone else next week, but for now, I’m going to take a nap.  This blogging thing can be exhausting sometimes.
