This Weekend I Rocked Lititz, the Swamp, and the Meadow!

After that last VIP thing of the night, I went out for my last potty break and daddy and I strolled around the campus for a little bit again.  We saw a crowd of people and a lady said, “There’s Youk! He’s gonna be famous!”  Apparently, mommy and daddy had told her and her husband that I was writing my children’s book, so they were excited to meet me.  I can’t blame them, just about everyone is excited to meet me.  A bunch of other people in that group started petting me too.  It was pretty awesome.

Then we started walking back to the house on wheels and saw Justin!  I was so excited to see him and of course he was excited to see me too!  He started petting me and telling me how soft I was.  If he stopped, I would start barking a little and then he’d keep petting me.  It didn’t take long to train him because he’s a smart human.

We Finally Made it to Aunt Cheryl’s House!

It also makes me sad sometimes too though.  I know that Aunt Cheryl is in a lot of pain.  I hate that cancer thing that she has and I wish that I could take all of her pain away for her.  Some days she sleeps even more than I do, so that’s a lot.  But even though she’s in a lot of pain, she is still always looking out for everyone else.  Like she bought a bunch of bacon for me but wasn’t able to have it cooked up for me by the time that we got here.  So, she made sure that mommy cooked that bacon once we got here.  She also kept reminding mommy that daddy was running low on cereal and that she needed to get some the next time that she went to the store.  Isn’t that the epitome of a special person?  Someone who no matter what they’re going through is still thinking about taking care of others.  Aunt Cheryl is really special.

Kentucky – Beautiful Blue Grass and Mammoth Caves

We were off to another Cracker Barrel for the night.  We go to Cracker Barrel so much, maybe I should reach out to them and have them sponsor my blog.  This Cracker Barrel was really cool because it was next to an ice cream shop.  Mommy and daddy went to get ice cream, but didn’t bring any back for me.  I guess I just have to keep training them.  I just got them trained on the bacon thing, now I’m going to have to get them trained to bring me ice cream back too.

They did bring me bacon in the morning, so I’ll consider that a win.

North Georgia Mountains, Peanuts, Dog Parks, and a Bath

Once we got down to the lower level, there was a dog park there too!  Actually, two dog parks!  One for big boys like me and one for those little dogs like Domino. The big boy dog park was really big.  It was a lot bigger than the one they had in Dillard.  They had these big black tubes in the dog park and daddy wanted me to walk through it, but I didn’t want any parts of it at first.  Finally, daddy looked at me, pulled a treat out of his pocket and asked me if I wanted it.  Of course, I wanted it, that was a dumb question.  He then held it right in front of my nose and tossed it into that big long black tube!  I was like, “What the bark, Daddy!?  Why did you do that!?”  I wasn’t happy.  I looked at daddy a little bit, then I tiptoed into that tube to get my treat.  I still couldn’t believe that my daddy would do that to me.  After I got the treat, I backed out of that tube never to return again!

Then daddy said, “No silly, you walk to the other end of it, not back out of it.”

I could tell that this was going to be a debate.

“Hey man, I just turned 13.  Didn’t you ever hear the phrase, ‘You can’t teach an old dog new tricks?’  That applies here daddy.”  I said.

Then he took another treat out, showed it to me, and tossed it further into that stupid tube!

I’ve never bitten my daddy or any human for that matter, but the thought certainly crossed my mind on this occasion.  I looked at him again and was like, “Seriously, man!?”

Well, I went in again, got the treat, and then walked all the way through to the other side.

Daddy ran around to the other side and took a picture of me as I was coming out, and said, “Good Boy!”

I was like, “I don’t want to hear it man, just leave me alone right now while I process all of this.”

I Had an Awesome Tennessee Mountain Birthday!

I was so excited when I woke up.  Mommy and daddy sang happy birthday to me before they started working on their project.  After they were done for the day, daddy said that we were going to go on a short walk for my birthday.  It was a nice day, a little cool, but very sunny, a great day for a walk for sure.  I mean, not that there is ever a bad day for a walk.

As it turned out, we didn’t take a short walk at all.  We started out by going down to the campground and walked to the amphitheater.  Then we started on a trail that was supposed to take us back to the campground, but part of it was closed.  So, then we had to take a detour on the Fred Behrand Trail.  Well that trail took us all the way up the mountain.  I loved it!  It was the best unexpected birthday present ever.  Daddy didn’t have his hiking books on, but he still did ok.  I was so happy.  There were some steep hills and narrow parts of the trail, but I conquered it like a champ!  13 years old or not, I have no plans on slowing down any time soon!
